StarMatch Astro ("we", "us") is an astrology app that calculates birth charts and writes personal readings. This page explains what data we handle and why.
Data we collect
- Birth details: date, time and place of birth, including the coordinates of the place. We need these to calculate a chart.
- Account data: your email address, or the basic profile that Google or Apple shares when you sign in with them.
- Saved content: charts and readings you save, and compatibility invites you create or accept.
We do not use advertising or analytics trackers.
How we use it
- To calculate your chart and show it to you.
- To generate your readings.
- To keep your saved charts, invites and account working.
We do not sell your data.
Service providers
We share data only with the providers that run the app:
- Supabase: accounts, saved charts and cached readings.
- Anthropic (Claude): to write your reading we send your calculated chart (planet positions, houses, aspects and timezone). We do not send your name, email, birth date or exact birth place.
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim): the text you type in the birth place search is sent to find matching cities.
- Google and Apple: only if you choose to sign in with them.
Generated readings are cached, keyed by a hash of the chart, so identical charts reuse the same reading.
Retention and deletion
We keep your data while your account exists. To delete your account and saved charts, email us at the address below and we will remove them.
Children
The app is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above.
